Kudos to Speakers and organizers. A big part of Eclipse Summit, Bangalore (Asia’s first and annual Eclipse-only 1st day show) just got over! Ramkumar s keynote address was an eye opener. He took me through the Galaxy and back to earth in just few minutes.

In a competitive business environment, open source gives me the means to drive down costs while increasing system and staff efficiencies. During Eclipse India Summit, I could learn latest information on ‘Eclipse Galileo’ and new ways to connect with the growing Eclipse community.

It was easy to find the Chancery Pavilion, the event location even though I was staying about 8 Kms away from the location. I reached around 8.20AM and there was already a Que outside.

The arrangements at the Venue were really good, and I did not find it difficult to get my badge, the summit guide and meal coupons. More over the lady at the counter was very courteous.
The inaugural address was impressive and I could also take few photographs. I also could get sometime chatting with some of the speakers and other attendees during the tea break. It was indeed interesting and eye-opening discussions.

Workshops were in-depth sessions on specific topics. The food was hot and spicy and nicely decorated. The event organizers had taken special care to select a menu, I think. It was really good. There was ample space to enjoy the meal and discuss on hot and cold topics.

I am not a hard core Java programmer, even though I could not follow all the sessions in detail; I could feel the enthusiasm from the participants, especially the young ones.
I recommend these sessions for all Computer science students who wanted to make a carrier in Software Engineering and also all Java programmers and enthusiast looking for in-depth understanding on Eclipse related tools and technologies.

The Plug-in Development session was indeed a good start for those wanting advanced concepts in plug-in development. Audience also shows great interest listening to his presentation.
I’am using BIRT (Business Intelligence and Reporting tool) for the last 4 years and successfully integrated with many applications. I look forward for Krishna Venkataraman’ s workshop on BIRT tomorrow morning.

Thanks to each participating company for their openness in today’s show and discussions. I was thrilled to be a part of the day and am really looking forward to tomorrow’s workshops. Let me go out for a small shopping for my Home sweet home.
